The CVPH Gastroenterology team is seeking a passionate Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to provide high‑quality care to adult patients in Plattsburgh, New York. This is an excellent opportunity to join a collaborative specialty team that values learning, teamwork, and patient‑centered care.
About the Role
This position offers a balanced mix of outpatient clinic care and inpatient consult/rounding. Working closely with Gastroenterologists and fellow APPs, the APP provides assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and ongoing management of adult GI patients.
- 32 clinical hours + 8 administrative hours per week
- Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m.
- No weekends
- Adult patient population only
What You’ll Do
- Manage an outpatient panel of GI patients
- Perform inpatient rounding and consultations with physician support
- Evaluate, diagnose, and treat GI conditions; order and interpret tests
- Coordinate discharges, follow‑up plans, and patient education
- Collaborate with physicians, APP colleagues, nursing, and support teams
What We’re Looking For
Required
- Licensed NP or PA in New York State (or eligibility to obtain)
- Eligible for DEA registration in NY
- Ability to obtain CVPH privileges
- Strong communication skills and patient‑centered approach
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
Preferred
- Gastroenterology or acute care experience
